Ruby on Rails 2.0 Tutorials

Below are some great tutorials for learning Ruby on Rails 2.0. When I first dove into rails I a few months ago I noticed that the more common tutorials that where out at the time were written for rails 1.23 or something like that. And if you follow the tutorials line by line your application wont turn out the way its suppose to. So below are some great tutorials for learning Ruby on Rails 2.0, enjoy.

  • Ruby on Rails 2.1 Tutorial – Very detailed tutorial on how to get up and running with rails 2.1 and explains how the framework actually works.

The tutorials above I have done myself personally and I feel they have really helped me rap my head around the framework and the ruby language itself. Below are some more Ruby on Rails 2.0 tutorials however I haven’t actually done any of them, just briefly viewed over them. Feel free to check them out and comment on them below.

  • Rails 2.1 – HTTP Basic Authentication – A very basic authentication system without using any plugins. I prefer to use Restful Authentication but if that is to much for you then you should give this one a try.

*"Rails 2.0 step by step":http://fairleads.blogspot.com/2007/12/rails-20-and-scaffolding-step-by-step.html – A nice little tutorial that walks through how to install rails on your machine locally and generate a scaffold.
